“Bring Back Our Girls” poem in commemoration of the abduction of Chibok girls, April 14 2015

BBOG
BRING BACK OUR GIRLS
By Comfort Mussa
Empty beds

Empty classrooms
Where are our girls?
New headlines,
New presidents,
Where are our girls?
A year gone,
You seek a new angle for,
Where are our girls?
The angle never changed
You stopped listening, we never stopped demanding
Bring back our girls
Je suis Chibok girls
Blank stare
Blank page
Words fail me. Did my leaders fail me?
Are our lives cheaper than….. tsuiiiip
Please,
Bring back our girls
